The Wayne Industries facility houses our Adult Services Programs.  The building is divided into three programs:  Adult Training Services, Employment Services and Senior Services.

Adult Training Program

Adult Training is for persons requiring high levels of assistance in mobility, physical development, communication, social interactions, and self-care (i.e. feeding, toileting, handwashing, etc.); primary training focus is on developing a greater independence in the activities of daily living.

Making Cookies

Staff assist individuals with various life skill activities to encourage independence.

Employment Services

Employment services is for persons whose primary focus is on employment and work skill development and the related skills necessary for working with others; job development and job coaching services are provided.

Senior Program

Senior program is for persons over 55 years of age who are adjusting to the physical, emotional and social changes that come with aging; primary focus is on social and leisure skills, maintaining physical abilities, and accepting change and loss.

Family Support Group

The Family Support Group is an informal group of individuals who are parents, siblings or guardians of adults who attend Wayne Industries or receive services from the Darke County Board of Developmental Disabilities.  This group meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Senior area at Wayne Industries.  Meetings consist of topics of interest, state and local issues and collaboration among members.  There are no dues to attend and the group meetings are open to anyone interested in attending.
